THE REGIONS OF DENMARK
Even though Denmark is a small country you can experience great diversity in the different regions of Denmark
From north to the south, from east to the west the Danish regions have a lot of different things to offer.
Below you can read a small introduction to each of the Danish regions. In the menu to the right under the headline

Copenhagen
The capital of Denmark bursting with both historic and modern buildings including royal castles and the new
Copenhagen Opera House

Copenhagen is much more than buildings. The city also offers excellent shopping opportunities, great museums, high quality restaurants, exciting sights and experiences for all ages.
Copenhagen is definitely worth a visit!
Sealand:
Roskilde-Køge

Explore the Vikings in Roskilde
and the final resting place for many Danish kings and queens in
Roskilde Cathedral.

Møns Klint
in the South which by some is claimed to be Denmark's greatest natural attraction.
Bornholm
Bornholm is Denmark's furthest outpost to the east. The rocky island of Bornholm is known to have more hours of sunlight than the rest of Denmark. The climate is very mild and the locals even grow figs and apricots in their gardens.
Funen
This part of Denmark is truly idyllic with lots of small towns and villages. The region is also wellknown for its many fine manor houses as for example
Egeskov Slot.
In this region you can also visit the birthplace and
the museum
of the world famous Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen.
North Jutland
If you like great beaches this is the place to go! The northen part of Denmark offers you great opportunities to get sand between your toes on the almost never ending broad sand beaches.
From Skagen in the north to the Limfjord in the south this region is full of rich scenery.
West Jutland
West Jutland is more than any other Danish region shaped by its geographifal surroundings.
The region is also a wellknown paradise for anglers. You can go fishing in the north sea from the jetty, the beach or from the deck of a fishing cutter. You can also go fishing in the Skjern Å river.
East Jutland and Århus
In Århus, the second largest city in Denmark, you find a rich scene of arts and music. The past is also present in Århus as for example
The Old Town.
However, East Jutland is much more than Århus so go on and explore yourself!
South-East and South Jutland
Enjoy a world of
