DENMARK ON THE MAP
Denmark is located in Northern Europe, in an areal called Scandinavia.

Scandinavia
Scandinavia consists of the neighbouring countries Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Iceland and Finland are also included on more broadened terms. In addition to these countries, Greenland, the Faroe Island and the Aland Islands are often referred to as “Norden” or the “Nordic countries”. Scandinavia can thus be considered a subset of the Nordic region.
This cluster of countries experiences similar languages, culture and political systems and it has historically always been closely tied together. This strongly related link is evident today, where the countries cooperate on a number of different projects, such as the shared, multinational airline “Scandinavian Airlines” and on the “Scandinavian Tourist Board”.
